We are a collective of 14 licensed community radio stations in Zimbabwe. Representing a rich diversity of local communities, community radios present a platform for “voices from the margins” to be heard.
NACB seeks to promote community broadcasting as a viable tool for communication, access to information, the inclusion of marginalized voices, public participation and development.
In pursuit of this goal, we coordinates community broadcasters, unifies their voice, and represents their collective interests. The association also promotes and facilitates cooperation, collaboration, peer learning, peer accountability and information exchange amongst its members.
In addition to supporting our members to meaningfully serve their communities, we are committed to positioning community broadcasting as a tool that enhances democracy, media pluralism and plays a positive role in community development. We believe that community broadcasting is not just a means of communication but also a catalyst for social change and development.
NACB provides continuous support to community radios, providing thought leadership, knowledge, capacity strengthening and policy advocacy. We develop best practices, standards, principles, and values for community broadcasters and foster professionalism, peer learning, peer accountability, and self-regulation.
